Eat well
The Joy of Food
Enjoying different foods and eating at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day are important to give you more energy and protect your short and long term health and wellbeing. Reducing your salt, sugar and fat intake is also vital to maintaining a healthy diet.
There are many easy and cheap ways to eat better. The key is to cook from raw ingredients as often as possible, rather than just eating processed and fast food. Cooking your own food not only tastes better, but you have control over the ingredients that you use. Many processed foods are higher in salt and sugar than your own home cooking, so it is healthier for you too.
Learn to cook easy recipes, find out about food labels and get some top tips on saving money through the Joy of Food. If you are aged 14 – 30, courses are available to you free of charge.
