Stop smoking services

Smoking cessationWant to quit?

The national campaign ‘Right Tools for the Job’, highlights whatever you're trying to achieve, it's much easier if you have the right tools for the job. So, if you're serious about quitting smoking you can get information, advice and details about where to go for help by ordering a free ‘Quit Kit’ from the NHS. Go to the Smokefree website for more details.

Alternatively, you can go directly to any of the following for local stop smoking advice:

  • Smokefree Norfolk - Provides free, confidential advice and support.
    Tel: 0800 0854 113
    Email: smokefreenorfolk@nchc.nhs.uk
    Website: www.smokefreenorfolk.nhs.uk
  • GP surgery - Your GP or practice nurse can offer advice and support. Many practices also have Stop Smoking Advisors based at the surgery, so talk to your GP or practice nurse for more details.
  • Pharmacies - Many Norfolk pharmacies now have a Stop Smoking Advisor based in their stores. Advisors can offer one-to-one advice and support at a time that is best for you. This means that you don’t have to go back to your GP if you need a prescription for nicotine replacement therapy. Ask at your local pharmacy to find out whether they offer this service.
Some pharmacies are accepting vouchers for nicotine patches or able to give you a “Quit Kit”. Here is a list of pharmacies offering this service.
  • You can get help to quit smoking through a wide range of healthcare providers, including Smokefree Norfolk, GPs and Pharmacies. For a full list and interactive map showing where your nearest clinic is and how to contact them.
