Surviving major trauma: New trauma centre and network

Patients and the public are being asked about plans to create a new service for the most seriously injured patients in the East.

The East of England Specialised Commissioning Group (SCG) is overseeing the creation of a new Major Trauma Centre at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, announced in July, and the set-up of a clinical Trauma Network which will include all local hospitals.

It is holding events at supermarkets and other locations across the region over the coming weeks, to ask people what they think about the plans and what worked well for them if they have experience of a serious injury.

The first event will be held at East of England Cooperative, Market Hill, Framlingham on 30 November from 10am-1pm, where an information pack will be available complete with a questionnaire.

All of the feedback will be used to inform the future planning of care for the most seriously injured.

You can also log on to the SCG website at: www.eoescg.nhs.uk where you can download the information pack and complete an online questionnaire, as well as view a six-part video of a demonstration of what happens at the scene of a car accident.

The deadline for feedback is 6 February, 2012 and you can return your completed form to us in many ways:
